Current Initiatives

◊Reviewing installation of green-roof on south garage to retain storm water

◊Investigating additional water reclamation options that would re-use rainwater onsite

◊Installation of additional waterless urinals: Saves up to approximately 40,000 gallons of water per year

◊Installing auto flush valves & faucets for water conservation

◊Relamping with T8 fluorescent lamps: Up to 40% energy savings and improved natural color appearances

◊Exploring replacement blinds that reduce energy loss and increase use of natural lighting

◊Downturned exterior/parking lot light fixtures: Reduces amount of light pollution in night sky

◊Lighting/HVAC: Digitally controlled system to optimize use & reduce energy consumption

◊HVAC: 100% economizer for maximum free cooling & micron filters for improved air quality

◊Installed double-paned low E windows: Reduces heat loss, sound vibrations and condensation

◊Fully-insulated exterior walls: Assists in maintaining an ambient indoor temperature

◊Low VOCs paint and recycled carpet: Improves indoor air quality, reduces waste, resilient

◊Use of drought-tolerant plants in plaza landscaping

◊Light-colored ballast on roof: Reduces the "heat island" effect

◊Walk off mats at all entries: Improves cleanliness of building
