| This project entailed the demolition of three buildings to construct a 130,000 square foot Home Depot retail store. The building was the first urban location for Home Depot on the west coast, and required the efficient use of only 7 acres of land, rather than the standard 10 acre minimum requirement. The building included the use of vibro-densification in order to address liquifaction concerns. The building is designed to withstand a major earthquake so as to continue in operation to meet the needs of the community in any disaster. Total cost of the project was nearly $6.0 million and was completed in 1993. |
