Seismic Upgrade

This project required the structural upgrade of the main building, which is nearly 1.9 million square feet. Since the building was fully occupied at the time, and was built at various times over the last 80 plus years, it was a daunting task. Working with the structural engineering firm of CPL, the property was upgraded over a 14 month period at a cost of nearly $6.0 million while maintaining the building at full occupancy. This was accomplished through careful planning that included all work being performed from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM during the week, and on weekends. The project has received various awards and acknowledgements for this incredible and successful seismic upgrade of a massive rehabilitated building.
